This executive order expands the Commission to Study Capital Budgeting from 11 members to no more than 20 members, and removes the March 15, 1998 deadline for the commission to submit its report.
This executive order slightly expands the Advisory Committee on Public Interest Obligations of Digital Television Broadcasters from up to 22 members to up to 25 members, and allows for Co-Chairs in addition to a single Chair. The notice extends the blocking of property and prohibitions on transactions involving designated foreign persons engaged in Colombian-based international narcotics trafficking.
This executive order makes technical amendments to EO 13010 to expand the President's Commission on Critical Infrastructure Protection from 15 to 20 members, adds public sector representation, and extends the life of supporting committees until March 15, 1998 to review the Commission's report and prepare recommendations. It also authorizes retention of Commission staff and designates classification authority for related infrastructure protection work.
President Clinton approved a proposed nuclear cooperation agreement with Switzerland under Section 123b of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, determining it would promote and not unreasonably risk U.S. common defense and security. The determination authorizes the Secretaries of State and Energy to arrange for the agreement's execution and requires publication in the Federal Register.
