Proclamation 8539
To Modify Duty-Free Treatment Under the Generalized System of Preferences
This proclamation modifies U.S. tariff preferences under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) by: designating new articles as eligible for duty-free treatment; terminating duty-free treatment for certain articles from specific beneficiary developing countries that exceeded competitive need limitations in 2009; waiving competitive need limitations for certain articles from specific countries; and revoking a previously granted waiver due to changed circumstances. The Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) is modified accordingly, with changes effective on dates specified in annexes.
