Proclamation 11055
Adjusting Imports of Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Unmanned Aircraft Systems Components Into the United States
In simple terms
This Proclamation imposes Section 232 tariffs on unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and UAS components to address national security concerns over foreign supply chain dependence and cybersecurity risks. A 100% ad valorem duty applies to larger UAS (>25 kg), thermal-imaging UAS, docking stations, and certain critical components effective September 3, 2026; a 25% duty applies to smaller UAS and (after a 180-day delay) certain components effective February 9, 2027. The proclamation also establishes an onshoring incentive program allowing tariff-free imports for supply chains during construction of approved U.S. manufacturing facilities, with preferential rates for allied nations meeting domestic content requirements.
