Presidential Notice 12978
Continuation of the National Emergency With Respect to Significant Narcotics Traffickers Centered in Colombia
President Obama extended for one year the national emergency declared in 1995 under Executive Order 12978, which targets significant narcotics traffickers centered in Colombia through economic sanctions and related measures. The continuation is based on a determination that Colombian drug trafficking organizations continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to U.S. national security, foreign policy, and economy.
