Continuation of the National Emergency With Respect to

This notice continues for one year a national emergency originally declared in January 2001 regarding Sierra Leone and expanded in May 2001 to include Liberia, maintaining a ban on U.S. importation of rough diamonds from both countries due to the threat posed by the Revolutionary United Front (RUF) insurgency and Liberian government support for it.
